Heine Laryngoscopes

A laryngoscope – also known as a laryngeal mirror – is a medical instrument that is used to view the upper respiratory tract and larynx. It consists of a handle and a curved or straight blade with an integrated light conductor that is inserted into the patient’s mouth to help lift the epiglottis. This enables practitioners to accurately perform procedures, such as placing a breathing tube during endotracheal intubation.

Nowadays, the preferred way of performing laryngoscopy is with a video system, such as the HEINE visionPRO video laryngoscope. A Mac 3 or Mac 4 blade is generally used for this. A more curved blade – the HEINE visionPRO HyMac 3 single-use blade – is also available should the anatomical conditions require it.

HEINE offers an exceptionally long 10-year guarantee on its proven and still frequently used Classic+ laryngoscope blades.

HEINE laryngoscope blades are available as single-use or reusable blades in a variety of designs such as Macintosh, Miller and Paed.

We design HEINE laryngoscope handles to be reusable handles operated with standard batteries or rechargeable batteries. If there are no hygienic reprocessing facilities for laryngoscopes at the place of use, a single-use laryngoscope handle shell is available.
